Faymeem ("we", "us", "our") makes screen-free books and activities for children. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us:

  • Order form: your name, email address, phone number, the type of customer you are (for example, parent, daycare, school or homeschooling family), the books and quantities you choose, your delivery method, your delivery address (street, city, province and postal code), and any message you include.
  • Newsletter sign-up: your email address and the page you signed up from.
  • WhatsApp, email and phone: your name, phone number or email address, and anything you share in your messages with us.

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site.

How we use your information

We use your information only to:

  • respond to your order request and confirm pricing, payment and delivery
  • deliver or ship your order
  • answer your questions
  • send you new book announcements and special offers, only if you subscribed to our newsletter
  • keep business and accounting records as required by law

We never sell or rent your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information only with trusted service providers who help us run Faymeem, and only as needed:

  • Google (Google Workspace, Google Forms and Google Sheets): to receive and store order requests, newsletter sign-ups and emails.
  • Cloudflare: to host and protect our website. Cloudflare may process technical information such as your IP address for security purposes.
  • WhatsApp (Meta): if you choose to message us on WhatsApp.
  • Delivery and shipping carriers: your name, address and phone number, to deliver your order.

Some of these providers may store information outside Canada, such as in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.

Payments

We do not take payments on this website. Payments are made by Interac e-Transfer or cash on delivery (local orders only). We do not store your banking information.

How long we keep it

We keep order information for as long as needed to complete your order and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. We keep your newsletter email address until you unsubscribe.

Keeping it safe

We use secure, password-protected accounts with two-step verification, limit access to your information to people who need it, and our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.

Children's privacy

Our books are made for children, but our website is meant for parents, caregivers and educators. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • ask to see the personal information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct or delete it
  • unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time, by using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or by emailing us

If you have a concern we haven't resolved, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with its effective date at the top.
